"ISN'T IT ROMANTIC?"

The ICA season kicks off with four luxurious works. Brahms’ clarinet sounds like silk, while the Russian Arensky produces hauntingly sensual melodies. “The summer has lapsed away,” in Martin Butler’s songs full of rhythmic play. Be transfixed by the work of CSO composer in residence Osvaldo Golijov.

 

"AMERICAN MUSIC FEAST"

Stuff your hearts with American flavored music. The enticing musical selections for the afternoon will include Samuel Barber, Knoxville: Summer of 1915, Aaron Copland, Vitebsk, Chicago composer James Mattern, Sonata Breve for brass quintet and Michael Tilson Thomas, Street Song. As part of ICA philanthropic and educational mission, a student ensemble from the Midwest Young Artists will also perform. Suggested donation is $15 for adults and $7 for students.

Jump start your heart with palpitating piano works. Fauré, Poulenc, and Hummel perfectly set the romantic season ablaze.
