Chamber Artists
International Chamber Artists (ICA) is pleased to announce its 2017-18 concert series. The events survey a wide range of chamber works, including classic chamber masterpieces, contemporary American composers, a special family concert, and a world premiere commission.

All ICA concerts are free, with a recommended $15 donation to support the non-profit organization and continue brining chamber music to our community.

We begin our season celebrating America’s 250th birthday, AKA semiquincentennial, with love in the air. The playful and blues-inflected Café Music comes from Detroit-born composer Paul Schoenfield. You will fall in “love at first hear” with Dale’s Romance. Brahms’s Horn Trio is a gorgeous compositional gem.

One of the most popular American compositions is Barber’s hauntingly expressive Adagio for Strings. Of her Craftsbury Trio, Walker writes that she wants to capture the “open and stark landscape with a gentle pace of life” in Craftsbury, Vermont. Pärt’s music can change your life.

We will have open seating at the dinner tables. If you’d like to build a table the price is $1,600, otherwise there is open seating. We will experience fabulous authentic Italian cuisine by chef Bruno Abate from Follia, soon to open in Lake Forest. Gluten free options will also be available. His current restaurant in Winnetka is Tocco, and it regularly receives rave reviews. Chef Bruno Abate will even be present to introduce the meal! Family connections abound at this benefit with the music and the meal. Join the ICA family by attending our benefit and we will all benefit!

Aaron Copland – Appalachian Spring, Suite for 13 instruments (25')
In American composer Larsen’s own words, Four on the Floor “is inspired by boogie-woogie.” Copland’s iconic Appalachian Spring features 13 players, with “Simple Gifts” sure to steal the show. This celebratory concert will include a sit down dinner. Tickets required. ​​​
